Latest update: 28 July 2016
This page lists research funders and research organisations (including universities, university departments, research institutions and research libraries), which have built funds to cover costs associated with book publications into their grants or established separate funds (sometimes called gold open access funds), which can be used by researchers to cover processing charges for scholarly books and monographs. Further explanatory notes about this list can be found at the end of this webpage.
Although the organisations in this list are grouped by country (or region), this doesn't mean that only researchers from that country or region are eligible. Institutional gold open access funds will often provide support to cover book processing charges, especially in co-funding scenarios.
This is not a complete list. If your funder/organisation is not listed, or to confirm details of the funding or eligibility, contact the funder/organisation (the scholarly communications officer or librarian, e.g.). If you are interested in publishing with Ubiquity Press, feel free to get in touch with us at editorial@ubiquitypress.com and we might be able to offer assistance or advice.
The list on this webpage was created with help of ROARMAP and SHERPA/JULIET (purpose overlapping with the purpose of this list), the Open Access Directory (OAD) and a table initiated by Jeroen Sondervan (purpose similar to this list, but specifically for the field of media studies). If you have any feedback or think a funder or organisation should be added or corrections are needed, please let us know at editorial@ubiquitypress.com.
